Bringing the (helpful) pain and learning to MuCon London 2017

I am speaking at a number of great conferences in late 2017 (the full list is being updated here soon!) and one I'm really looking forward to is MuCon London 2017 in November. When I originally collaborated with the wonderful folks at Skills Matter on the idea for the conference I could never have anticipated the tenacity of the subject still going strong years later! It seems that the combination of being interesting, technical, and topically diverse keeps the force strong with this one!

So why am I particularly excited this year? Well, mainly because it's an opportunity to revisit a topic very close to my heart, namely - How the complex sociotechnical system of software development learns and improves. At first glance, this might not immediately leap out as being microservices-related, but when you understand that microservices is as much a cultural and organisational pattern as it is a technical manifestation, things hopefully become a little clearer.

Oh and once again I'll be bringing my trusty Les Paul along with a new song this time; nothing sets the tone of the angst of running microservices in production like a short musical intro!

I hope you can make it to MuCon this year, it's going to be incredibly informative and fun (as always) and I'm looking forward to having those all-important conversations between the session with everyone who can make it.

See you there!
