The "Book in a Day" Challenge: Guidebook for Software Architects

It was a dark, gloomy early Saturday morning when a mad (chief) scientist, often obsessed with two-wheeled travel, suddenly awoke with a hysterical laugh and an improbable plan.

"Today", he said, "I shall write a book in just one day, bwahahahah!". The rest, as they say, is thankfully history...

Today, Saturday November 22nd 2014, I'm embarking on a mad endeavour to create a book in a day.

Starting at 18:30 this morning, I started creating the LeanPub book "Guidebook for Software Architects" and right now, 9:34, I've just published the first, completely unfinished, version.

This book is priced at $7.99, and will stay there forever. I figured that that was roughly the price of a pint in a London pub, and since I'll be celebrating at the end of the day at a book launch in London I thought it was a nice way of asking readers to 'buy me a drink' for the book.

For the rest of the day I'll be writing this book as I embark on my usual Saturday journey's around Eastbourne and then to London. I'll be blogging the experience of this madness here in the coming days, but if you'd like to join me on this journey then please just follow me on Twitter and grab a copy of the book.

This is going to be fun!

UPDATE: 100% of the proceeds from this book are going to the Young Minds charity.
