Java ONE, here I come...

It's true, I finally got things sorted and I'm off to San Francisco in May to enjoy the sounds, the sights, the sun of.. well... a darkened auditorium. But that's ok because this is THE chance of the year to get a hook on the bleeding edge of Java - JavaONE.

So despite the fact that I have an itinerary that means I probably won't see much daylight (except for lunch, there's always lunch, right?) I will see some amazing things that I'm really looking forward to.

Highlights I'm attending include:

  • Taking a peek at the latest offerings direct from the source of Java, Sun.
  • Getting excited about how JRuby may finally merge my two favourite platforms.
  • Grabbing a look at the folks from Interface21.
  • Getting a tour of how off-line web apps will be enabled using Java technologies
  • All and sundry when it comes to developing Web 2.0 apps.

Oh and catching up with some of the locals of course! I'll also be blogging all that I learn (with a vast pinch of salt and more than a dash of personal bias) right here so keep 'em peeled.
