RBlip takes its first steps

rblip, the open source project aiming at creating a Ruby implementation of the LLUP protocol, took its first steps today (well, last night to be exact) with an initial commit of the source code.

Although there isn't a whole lot there at the moment, these first baby steps included:

  • An initial version of a Ruby API for listening and sending blips across a LLUP channel.
  • An initial implementation that takes advantage of Amazon's Simple Query Service.
  • A simple LLUP Rails application that sends and receives blips using whatever underlying transport is preferred.
  • An initial drop of the Rails application that will become the BlogXast service.

The project homepage is hosted by Google Code as is all the source code.

Have fun! There will be loads more to come soon...
